About Us
Company Summary
ComUniversity changes the relationship between students and universities. We improve the college experience by enabling meaningful connections, community building, and corporate-funded, social philanthropy.
Mission Statement
We provide technology to get students off of their devices and meeting other students in-person. We intend to disrupt and refactor the college social discovery experience with a centralized, white-label platform sponsored by the university and dedicated to growing and maintaining the university community.
Company History
ComUniversity is the brainchild of Jonny Hamburger, who was a college freshman at Indiana University at the time. Jonny was lost in a sea of disparate, disorganized utilities to connect with other, like-minded students. He used Facebook and Instagram to try to find a roommate, wandered around campus to figure out what clubs were offered, joined several GroupMe groups to communicate with club members, and relied on word-of-mouth and thumbtacked papers to learn about events and happenings around campus. There had to be a better, centralized way!
